Can you guys not read? The OP is not QQing about being charged for monking, but being charged for consets. This person seems to think they are above having to contribute as much to the group as anyone else. I agree charging ANYONE for being a part of a group is stupid, but the OP is addressing something entirely different.

I think Kerpall hits it on the head. The fact that consets have became the status quo of any elite area and a requirement is more the problem than anything. Yeah its nice to have but the fact you can't get into a group without them is where the problem is.

Failed attempt at recreating the old monk strike. You see back then we didnt have heroes and people hardly cared. Why should people care at all now that we do have heroes?

My Point is Not the 1k for the conset Its the simple fact I'm working hard to monk & with the aid of other monks keep everyone including myself alive!Before EOTN there Were no Con Sets their were balanced Grps & everyone work equally as hard! & if the team failed it was nice try!!! NOT I wasted 1K on that!!!

Stop being greedy b*tches. Why should 1 ursan have to dish out 7k when the entire group could just give 1? Your job isnt that much harder, you maintain one enchantment, use Glyph-> Heal party, and use Seed of life when someones red bar goes down.

I cared, back then it was impossible to do some missions with henchmen monks, and you would have 2-3 districts full of people waiting for a monk to stop being afk. Another reason why monks are overpowered and should not have a place in guildwars 2, or any other game for that matter.

You chose to be a monk for a reason. Get with it or stop playing. No one forced you to go on those runs in FoW/UW/Olaf. You did it yourself. And I'm sure those FoW/UW groups warned everyone before the runs that people would pay for consets (lol noobs, but that's another thread in itself).

So join a group that doesn't use cons, or tell them up front you won't be paying. But don't cry here, because we don't care.

Hero < Real monk, here is why:
1) Unless you can macro in several weapon sets to your hero, they won't be as good. For example: Defensive set, 40/40 set, enchanting set, energy set, low energy set, etc. Any good monk uses at least 3 set combinations depending on build.

2) You can set them to avoid combat, but they cannot avoid mobs like a real monk can.

3) When attacked, they cannot lure mobs back to ursans to finish off, they run around like retards.

A good Restoration Ritualist is just as good as a monk. Some rit builds exceed those of HB monks, and are simply less popular because everyone assumes monks are the uber god healers. Go to guild wiki, and look at some restoration skills. Lower energy req, and greater heals, compared to monks.

This was resolved in the "great" Monk Boycott at Thunderhead Keep in early 2006. Monks are now allowed to be as evil and/or stupid as they choose to be, they can heal or protect whoever they want and Warriors will not call them the reason a mission or quest was failed.

A Good healer (monk, rit, or n/rt) is > any conset.

I personally find n/rt most effective, but it is unrecognized in pve, where one would benefit most from soul reap!

If you got a good healer, then there should be no need for the con set. If you ursans made the bad choice of choosing a $hitty healer, then it is your own fault you need the con set to stay alive O_o .

Added: Please, somebody tell me how Hero > human monks, i must see this. I am the only one who has stated reasons why human > hero. You can go about saying heroes are best lol, but without any fact or proof, you are just blowing hot air. Lets see your hero do UW O.O .

I wouldn't pay a darn thing if I was Monkig an Ursan group just let them use heros if they need a Monk.Hero Monks can't use seed of life.I wouldn't bring any consets either like res scrolls let them pay for that.
